Ramon Dourado, Vice President of Operations, Atlantic Mr. Ramon Dourado brings extensive experience in public education to his position as Vice President of Operations for Platform Learning’s Atlantic Territory. Mr. Dourado most recently served as Vice President of Operations for the charter school division of Edison Schools, Inc., the nation’s largest manager of public contract and charter schools. In this position he was responsible for the overall accountability of charter schools managed by Edison, and new schools implementation in Pittsburgh, PA, including the management of over $15 million in school budgets. Prior to this position, Mr. Dourado held the position of Vice President of Development at Edison, where he was responsible for business and client development for the charter school division. Before joining Edison, Mr. Dourado was the Director of Operations/Start-up Director for LearnNow, Inc., an education management company that managed charter schools and struggling public schools throughout the United States. In this position Mr. Dourado managed all activities related to the start-up of LearnNow schools, including the successful opening of Mariana Bracetti Academy Charter School, the largest charter school in the state of Pennsylvania. From 1992 to 1999 Mr. Dourado was employed at the Urban League of Pittsburgh where he ultimately held the position of Director of Education. During his 7-year tenure at the Urban League he developed and implemented programs and services geared to increase the educational attainment of disadvantaged youth and adults. While there, he oversaw the creation of one of Pittsburgh’s first Charter Schools. Soon thereafter, Mr. Dourado became the first President of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Charter Schools dedicated to creating a statewide support system for charter school operators. Mr. Dourado is a lifelong resident of the greater Pittsburgh area. He obtained his bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Management and master’s degree in Communications (Training and Development) from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. While at Clarion, Mr. Dourado was very active in student leadership opportunities focused on servicing the needs of the minority student population of the University. Upon receiving his Graduate Degree from Clarion University, Mr. Dourado became the Director of Minority Affairs for Clarion University. Sandra Davis, Director of Operations Sandra Davis is Director of Operations for Platform Learning’s Philadelphia/Camden region. Ms. Davis brings more than 30 years of education experience to her current role at Platform Learning. Ms. Davis has spent her entire career working as a mentor, an instructor, an administrator, a consultant in New Jersey public school. An accomplished leader and manager, Ms. Davis is also an analytical thinker skilled in identifying the educational needs of her students, and setting priorities to meet their learning objectives. Most recently, Ms. Davis spent 13 years as an Elementary Principal in Pennsauken, New Jersey where she honed her leadership and organizational skills. Prior to her position as Principal, Ms. Davis worked in the Camden, New Jersey school system for more than 19 years. During her tenure, she held the positions of Elementary Supervisor, Elementary Assistant Principal, Basic Skills Resource Teacher, Middle School Teacher, Primary Teacher and Paraprofessional. Ms. Davis received a bachelor's of Arts and master's of Arts in Elementary Education from Glassboro State College.
